Warranty & Flooding

WARRANTY:

All equipment we sell undergoes rigorous manufacturer testing including pressure testing to maximum depth and function. We also implement local testing to make sure all equipment is within specifications.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO TEST THE INTEGRITY & FUNCTION OF THE EQUIPMENT BY DOING A DRY DIVE (NO CAMERA INSTALLED) WITH THE HOUSING ON ITS FIRST DIVE.The warranty only applies to the housing and it does not include the camera / accessories.

All brand-new purchases made from Splash are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty from defects for a specified length of time, which varies by manufacturer. Please check your manuals and warranty cards for details.

In the event of a valid warranty claim, we will repair it locally and have it back working in proper condition. In rare occasions, the manufacturer may require that the equipment in question be sent back for warranty verification. Minimal freight cost may be charged to your account. We will take care of the shipping cost on the way back.

FLOODING PROBLEMS:

Manufacturer warranty covers the housing, strobes, lights or similar equipment with waterproof capability for its water resistance to a specified maximum depth and its function. IT DOES NOT COVER THE CAMERA, LENSES OR ACCESSORIES installed in the housing or vessel.

Once the equipment is returned to us, we will evaluate by inspecting that no damaged or misuse has been made on the housing & ports lips and supplied O-rings. These are crucial for us to be able to determine and report to the manufacturer the situation of the problem.

We will then install supplied O-rings (main O-ring and port O-rings where applicable) and pressure test it to check for any leaks. If no leaks occur, the assumption is that the O-rings were incorrectly installed. It is for this reason that we request each customer to do a “dry dive” (no camera installed) with the housings first dive.

Unfortunately, repair of mishandled equipment will be to the account of the buyer.
