Following the latest features of the Z-330 strobe, the D-200 is designed to deliver maximum G.N. 20 and focus on an optical trigger system. Built-in dome lens is optically designed to offer wide 110-degree coverage underwater without any diffuser which can sacrifice power. Expanded Underwater Coverage 110 degrees by Dome Lens

Precisely designed front dome lens (*1) together with INON's unique patented "T-shape Twin Flash" successfully manages both powerful G.N. 20 (*2) and circular 110-degree coverage UNDERWATER without sacrificing any power. Without using a diffuser, the D-200 strobe is well designed to deliver high power and wide coverage.

Not as like a conventional translucent diffuser which can widen coverage while it blocks some power and stores heat inside, this specially designed dome lens diffuses light thanks to reflection ratio of air, acrylic, and water to attain UNDERWATER coverage of 110 degrees with an almost all-powerful output coming through.

Furthermore, the D-200 has overcome the drawback of a high-power strobe which has a long flash duration and reaches FULL power after start flashing in a significantly short period of time.

Together with a flashing system in sync with pre-flash and main flash of camera’s built-in flash, the D-200 can deliver full power even at 1/1000 high shutter speed setting without cutting power.

Easy to Handle Underwater, Buoyant at 4g

The D-200 strobe provides buoyancy at 4g (*3) underwater including 4 x AA eneloop batteries and Strobe Light Shade making the strobe slightly buoyant underwater. By attaching an adapter such as "Z Adapter MV" or "Z Joint" can have almost neutral buoyancy in saltwater. A heavy underwater weight strobe may cause sudden strobe movement with its own weight when unclamping too much while neutrally buoyant D-200 offers comfortable strobe aiming adjustment as well as easy handling underwater.

(*3) Buoyancy measured in freshwater is about 4g/0.1oz. Calculated buoyancy in seawater is about 23g/0.8oz. Including 4 x "Eneloop" batteries and Strobe Light Shade.

S-TTL Auto /13 Steps Manual Flash Mode

Proven and reliable INON's unique super accurate auto exposure system "S-TTL" Auto mode (patented) is onboard to support easy and solid underwater shooting with appropriate exposure.

In addition, an optimized high-performance slave sensor never misses the camera's trigger signal even with a faint signal or partially damaged fiber optics cable can still trigger the strobe not to bother you with unstable flashing.

Precise 1/2EV. increment 13 steps Manual flash control is onboard as well to support professional use where fine power adjustment is required to provide highly accurate lighting.

Controller to Adjust Exposure of S-TTL Auto

It is simple to fine-tune flash power in S-TTL Auto by dialing the EV. Control Switch on the back control panel. The adjustable range is 3 steps to increase and 6 steps to decrease. It is easy and simple to suit your intended exposure or different exposure control characteristics among camera models.

Bundled "Strobe Light Shade" to Prevent Shining Camera Lens

The "Strobe Light Shade" is bundled as a standard accessory to cut a part of strobe light to benefit to dramatically suppress flare or ghost by not shining camera lens directly and backscatter when a strobe is positioned to the vicinity or ahead of lens port by blocking light between lens port and subject not to shine suspended particles.

The flange part rotates 360 degrees. Intuitive operation and comfortable adjustment are supported with light clicks even underwater while you shoot.

220 lumen, Shutter Linked Auto OFF Focus Light

The built-in "Shutter-linked Auto-Off Focus Light" delivers 220lm brightness to support when focusing a subject and cease in synch with the shutter release then automatically turns ON again.

To aim the optical axis of the Focus Light in line with strobe light’s optical axis, the Focus Light has a fresnel lens in front supporting more accurate strobe aiming and improved usability as an aiming light.

Conspicuous Phosphorescence Back Panel

Improved Intuitive Control Dials

Using white base high-intensity phosphorescence material for the back panel to improve visibility both during day and night dive.

Also, control dials are enlarged for user-friendly controllability even through thick gloves during cold water diving. The "EV. Control Switch" stops at minimum and maximum power settings telling you the current switch position without seeing the switch itself.

Radiation System to Release Generated Heat Inside

The D-200 strobe is equipped with a circular metal heatsink carrying high thermal conductivity around the light-emitting area and designed to radiate heat from the electrical circuit components as well. These designs effectively release heat generated inside of the strobe by each shot.

Minimum Recycle Time "approx. 1.3 sec." at Full Flash

Minimum recycle time at full flash (how fast the strobe ready lamp shines and the strobe is ready after making full flash) is approx. 1.3 sec. (*3) achieving fast recycle time even delivers powerful light.

Easy yet Secure Optical Cable Connection

INON Optical connection system is flood-free and provides a simple yet reliable connection between strobe and camera system including compact digital camera housings, housings for digital SLR camera with built-in flash or SLR housings with built-in LED trigger circuitry regardless of make or model.

On-board Wireless TTL

The high sensitive slave sensor enables wireless S-TTL Auto mode using a mirror instead of an optical cable. Attaching optional Wireless Connection Kit on the D-200 and combined with an underwater housing via Shoe Base Set or Grip Base D4 Set creates a handy S-TTL Auto shooting set.

* Not compatible with camera's onboard wireless system such as Olympus wireless RC flash system or Nikon creative lighting system as wireless flash system differs.

Integral Pre-flash Mode Detecting Function

Fully compatible with a camera that alters a number of pre-flash between once or twice making total flashes twice or three times depending on shooting condition. The D-200 automatically detects a number of pre-flash to activate an adequate program to support the proper functioning of the Manual as well as highly accurate S-TTL Auto mode.
